Lemon and Lavender Love

It’s Thursday I’m in love… with lemon and lavender. This beautiful pairing is inspired by the wonderful Elizabeth Anne Designs. EADS is one of my favorite wedding inspiration blogs and if you’re not reading it religiously you should start. Who wouldn’t love lavender and lemon?!?! Lemons make such an amazing accent on any table and there is not one person in the whole world who can look at a lemon and not get a burst of happiness.

Seriously those pictures are amazing. Throw some lemonade in mason jars on the tables and this could be the perfect wedding! As always here’s my Nearlyweds wedding colors chooser matching template:

Hope you enjoy and send me some pictures if you end up using these colors.

Let Your Venue do the Inspiring

I love the colors of this wedding! You might pick a venue with natural amazing colors like this one I saw on the Wedding Chicks site:

If you do pick a venue like this, a great form of inspiration can be the accents you love that drew you to the venue. For example the pool, the flowers or the railing. Let the venue speak to you!

Here’s some pictures that show the bride’s wonderful choices to reflect the venue’s natural beauty.

And as always here’s the colors I chose and pulled out via Nearlyweds wedding color chooser:

What do you think? Have you been to a wedding where the couple clearly chose to let the venue inspire them? What did you think?

Red, White, Blue and… YELLOW

I have been thinking about a red, white and blue wedding for a while. It can be done really cutely without being too over-patriotic. I came across this post on Wedding Chicks today and now I know the combo needs yellow!

These colors look amazing together!

Here is my wedding colors chooser inspired by the above pictures:

What do you think? Could you pull it off in a non-Yankee Doodle way? Yes you can.

Vintage Inspiration

Last week I was cleaning out a chest of drawers in my parents’ basement. It was literally a treasure chest of vintage glory. I found coins from the year I was born (really cool), old pictures, old blankets and the coolest thing of all was a handkerchief. It was the most random thing I’ve ever seen in my parents’ house.

It has a map of New Zealand and things that are important to the Maori tribe (I think) of New Zealand. I asked my mom where it was from and she said she had a pen pal from New Zealand when she was in 5th grade. Apparently they traded letters a handkerchief, my mom’s was from exciting Centralia, Missouri. I guess it could have been exciting to her pen pal. Maybe the daughter of her pen pal just found the Centralia handkerchief and is writing about it at this very moment in New Zealand… Probably not, but it would be neat.

Anyway here is a picture of this bad boy:

I literally haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. If you are a bride or groom deciding on wedding colors, look through your parents’ old stuff. It can be highly inspirational and very entertaining.

Here’s the color swatch I designed with this handkerchief on Nearlyweds wedding color chooser:

Barn Wedding Inspiration

I found these three weddings and I can’t stop obsessing over a barn wedding. Unfortunately my mom has sever hay fever so I would have never been able to do anything like this for my big day, but I think it’s amazing nonetheless. I love that in a barn with the beige-ish hay color everywhere you can get away with literally any color scheme you want.

The first picture is from Elizabeth Anne Designs and is from a great barn wedding with tons of DIY. The second and third pictures are from Ruffled and a beautiful barn wedding in Canada. The last picture is from Style Me Pretty. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this one because they had all different chairs and different plates. So adorable!

Last but not least here is my color chooser from the above pictures. I of course used Nearlyweds amazing wedding color chooser!

National Stationery Show Inspiration

We will be at the National Stationery Show next week so I’ve spent a lot of time looking at the designers who will be in attendance on their site this week. Thus I have been inspired by their beautiful logo! It has some great purples, greens and grays and I’m a sucker for a great purple and green combo!

I also was inspired by the beautiful lilacs I have growing in my yard right now. Lilacs would be so amazing in a bouquet or as a table centerpiece. I just found this lilac bouquet on Elizabeth Anne Designs.

Last, but not least, here’s the color palette I made on Nearlyweds’ Color Chooser to match the inspiration.

What season do you think suits this color palette best? I think it would be perfect for an April/May/June wedding because it’s lilac season here in the PNW so you could get them for cheaper than any other time. Hope this gives you some ideas!

Bow Tie Inspiration

I saw this great post on C&B Daily yesterday and the bow ties spoke to me! I love the idea of a groom wearing a suit to his wedding instead of a tuxedo. These bow ties and tie would be amazing with a gray or tan suit.

I saved the above picture and uploaded it to Nearlyweds’ new Color Chooser feature. You upload the picture and then simply click on the colors you like and it populates the color swatch. So easy! These colors would make such a classic wedding color palette.

Coral and Teal!

I painted my fingernails teal yesterday. Yes all by myself, no manicurist necessary. Well I did ask my husband to help with my right hand, but he messed up the one fingernail he touched and I had to redo it. So technically that doesn’t count. Several hours later I was knitting a scarf with some great coral yarn and a wonderful wedding color palette appeared! Teal and coral.

This morning I saw this really great post on Style Me Pretty where they have some coral and teal and it really works! This would be a great palette for a spring, summer or fall wedding.

Berries! The perfect color palette for a fall wedding. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about a berry wedding since I saw this post on Style Me Pretty. They went with more light pink and blue, but can you imagine purple, raspberry and navy blue? Maybe with a hint of yellow or green? Beautiful!
This is an especially amazing theme if you are in the Northwest because fall is blackberry season here, so you can literally go almost anywhere and find blackberries on the side of the road for guests as a favor. Or you could make blackberry pie instead of wedding cake, or something like that. Don’t be afraid to take advantage of the nature in your area for your wedding.
